What's a Bold-like Shapeshooter?

Glad you were likely to ask! The game is lovingly referred to as a shapeshooter because I can't draw sprites for the life of me, ahd I call this game a Bold-like because I was incredibly inspired by the roguelite arena shooter Overbold from the UFO50 collection. It's one of my most played games and I'm terrible at coming up with ideas, so i figured "why don't I just switch up the theme, twist up the main idea, and call it a genre?!"

This is my first game ever.

Be the best shape.

Fight up to 15 different enemy types at once as you ravage your way through 32 rounds of tactical chaos! These intelligent shapes strive for your demise, and their unique yet synergistic abilities will turn you into a paranoid trigger-happy victim of gangstalking! 

3 examples of the 15 enemy classes...

GHOST: This swiftly-moving blue square will run you down like a pitbull, cleverly ducking under your bullets as it sprints into your face.  
DODGER: The orange triangle will constantly surprise you with it's side-to-side juking abilities.
SENTRY: These hefty purple circles like to teleport around you at random-intervals. In large amounts, you can't even tell which circle is telegraphing the next destination. 

Thankfully, you're the Hexgun, and your abilities overcome any situation. With enough practice, you'll be able to jump over shapes, slo-mo your way past bullets, and even punch enemies square in the face.

Get rich, die strong!

The game's difficulty depends on how bold you're feeling. If you take high risks for high rewards, you can use your hard-earned cash to get stronger and buff yourself out to the max using up to 23 upgrades! (36 upgrades planned)

It'll take some smart betting to make real money, and some practice to learn which upgrades make things easiest for you... Most upgrades have anywhere from 2 to 6+ tiers! In each playthrough, you'll customize your own class completely from scratch.

NEXT UPDATE (0.9.0a): the game will have 35 upgrades!

Eventually we will move to the 1.0 beta, where the minimum price will be $5.00 and I will focus on designing features outside of the core game loop such as Multiplayer, Challenge Mode, Achievements, and more. Oh and the official soundtrack is already in the works. It's gonna be implemented in a reeeeally cool way.
